Canon PIXMA MP630 Ink Review
The case design of the Canon PIXMA MP630 continues to be largely comprised of frosted silver together with piano black, but in completely different areas. Like the MP610, it's actually a substantial device, having a black rim to the lid, echoing the black base. A Paper Tray pulls up from the back and there's a second feed coming from a tray underneath at the front, each of which can easily deal with 150 sheets of paper. The front tray is just for plain paper while the rear one, having a straighter paper route, may take both plain or Photo Paper.
The flatbed scanner can take individual sheets of plain paper or photo prints, but unlike the Pixma MP980, there is no transparency adapter set at the bottom of the lid..
Placed directly into the top side is a fold-up, 62mm Liquid crystal display and furthermore below this is the now regular Canon control panel, incorporating two softkeys as well as the firm's easy-to-use, click-dial control for menu navigation. On the very curved, right front edge of the unit is a flip-open cover, that discloses three Memory Card slots, to help you to plug in practically any of the existing platforms. The scan level of quality from this device's flatbed scanner, having a high optical resolution of 4,800 x 9,600ppi, is extremely good and there's less apparent colour cast than from a number of its competitors.
The caliber of prints is, as previously, top notch. Black print is sharp and with none of the ink feathering a number of its competitors are afflicted by.
Colour is also normally nicely reproduced, although there's certain mottling inside substantial parts of solid colour. Black text registration over colour is robust without any indications of haloing, and a colour photocopy reproduced black and colour well, even though there was certain lightening of colour hues as always.
Canon excels in terms of photograph prints, with our test samples appearing natural and also really detailed, specially in areas of shadow. Colour changes tend to be handled efficiently without any apparent dot patterns and delivering a 15 x 10cm print in 46 seconds is outstanding.
Canon PIXMA MP630 Ink Cartridges total five; two black cartridges and three colour. The PGI-520BK black cartridge is used for text print whereas the CLI-521 cartridges are employed for photos and graphics.
This machine remains an effective compromise of price against feature set. With twin paper trays, CD/DVD printing and duplex as standard, it offers a lot of what a lot of family customers need from an all-in-one.
