Canon Powershot G11 Digital Camera - What's Inside?
The Canon Powershot G11 Digital Camera is unlike any other type of Digital Cameras that only offer smaller chassis. The G-11 offers a larger one just like the big boys in the field of pseudo-DSLRs. It comes with a color scheme of standard black and provides plenty of space for an easy and more comfortable grip. Moreover, this camera also comes with an interchangeable lens that slides in and out. Aside from the big optical viewfinder, this camera uses large control dials which are similar to the typical DLSRs.
This camera makes use of a 10MP CCD sensor and a proprietary Digic 4 image processor of Canon. This offers a great amount of power for a pro-consumer pseudo DLSR. With the 4x Digital Zoom and a 35 mm focal length, this camera makes a good and ideal personal camera compared to a longer-range one. Since the lens does not have a wide range, single objects are better shot subjects than the group shots. Most of the camera's features and specs work automatically but since pro-consumer is targeted, all of the said functions are accessible and can all be tweaked and adjusted on the fly. This camera has the capability to take images in the JPEG, RAW, RAW+JEG file formats; these are all executable along with Digital Video at 640 x 480 and 320 x 480 resolutions. The speed is at 30 frames per second H.264 video files.
Some of the additional features that come with Canon Powershot G11 include the following: an optical Image Stabilizer, various shooting modes with different presets, and ISO 180 - ISO 3200 light sensitivity. Offering quick snap shots is the camera's max shutter speed which is 1/4000 of a second while the minimum speed of 15 seconds will allow you to do experiment shots.
The Canon Powershot G11 has the usual White Balance function and metering function. It also offers other state of the art features like an articulated LCD viewfinder for shots that you don't actually have to see, AF area size adjustment, an integrated neutral-Density Filter, a Hot Shoe, support of RAW files, bayonet Adapter Mount for add-on lenses, and an exposure lock. This type of camera supports SD and MMC memory cards.
Overall, the Canon Powershot G11 Digital Camera is an excellent type of pro-consumer digital camera with large grips for comfort and controls that comes in an easy dial base. Those who are looking for a step down from their old and former clunky DLSR will definitely enjoy this kind of digital camera without having to sacrifice the former power and features of a typical and standard DLSR.
